What’s in a “win?”

For warehouse managers, it’s getting software up and running without disruption to daily operations. For floor operators, it’s about having tools that help you do your job successfully. For us at EVS, there’s more to winning then selling warehouse management system software. We’ve found a simple truth that frames our perspective on winning: When we make our users' job easier, everyone else wins. Known as a 4x win, we’re of the mindset that when our users win, our customers' business wins, their customers win, and we win.

Win  1

The users win because they have a great tool to help them with their job.

Win 2

Their customers win because their operation runs better when their team members are more effective

Win 3

The stakeholders win because their operation runs better when their team members are more effective.

Win 4

We win because we have made our corner of the world a better place, and we get to capture some of the value that we create.

That's a 4x win.

The Starting Blocks

How does mobe3 make our users' job easier? Here are my top 2:

#1 - A great user experience

This is exactly why we chose to deploy natively on iOS. We started this process with our users in mind. Our users tap, swipe and scroll like they do on their everyday apps. The UI responds as naturally as a native UI and not a tiny web page. They get notifications like they do on their own smartphone. They take pictures of significant events. They can FaceTime to communicate, like they do when not at work.

Our philosophy is about more than getting better performance. It is about quality of life for our users, who will spend 40+ hours a week engaging our app. Giving our many thousands of users something thoughtful, beautiful and powerful is one way that we make the world a better place.

#2 - Directed and validated work

At the risk of rattling off a bunch of jargon, which is very easy to do in the WMS industry, there are a few specific features that direct the users through their work. A few of these are task interleaving, smart inventory allocation, optimized travel, and the right amount of scan validation direct the users through their tasks so they can get up to speed quickly and operate effectively.

It's simple. When we make our users' job easier, everyone else wins.
