Frequently asked questions.
How accurate is the location?
Within two to three feet. mobe3 RTLS leverages Apple's Indoor Positioning to deliver GPS-level accuracy in industrial facilities.
Is location information shown in real-time?
Almost. mobe3 RTLS updates locations every 15 seconds by default, but this interval can be fine-tuned to meet specific needs.
How much does mobe3 RTLS cost?
The mobe3 RTLS annual subscription is $50K/year for sites under one million square feet & $100K/year for sites over one million square feet. This includes unlimited connected devices, IMDF (Indoor Mapping Data Format), & full API access.
How long does it take to get indoor positioning up & running in my facility?
Thirty days or less. Activating mobe3 RTLS is easy as 1-2-3:
- We guide you through registering your facility & capture your Wi-Fi fingerprint.
- We create your IMDF for Apple’s Indoor Positioning.
- We power on mobe3 RTLS for your facility—all within 30 days.
Does mobe3 RTLS require any special equipment? Will I need infrastructure, beacons, or other hardware to get mobe3 RTLS to work?
No. mobe3 RTLS operates seamlessly with your existing 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi access points & iOS devices, delivering fast, cost-effective, & precise indoor location visibility.
Can mobe3 RTLS show the location of asset tags, or just iPhones & iPads?
Absolutely. mobe3 RTLS integrates with specific BLE beacons to track their locations alongside iOS devices.
What’s the network impact/load of running mobe3 RTLS?
mobe3 RTLS is designed to be light on your network, efficiently sending compressed & encrypted data to the Azure cloud. We recommend allocating 50-250 Kbps of bandwidth per user to keep everything running smoothly. This ensures reliable, consistent performance across your entire operation.
Does mobe3 RTLS collect personally identifiable information (PII)?
No, mobe3 RTLS does not collect PII. It also doesn’t gather any data when the device is logged out of mobe3, outside the designated geofenced location, or when Location Services are disabled.
Can anyone outside my company see my indoor map?
No. With mobe3 RTLS, you have full control over who can access your indoor map.
Can I geofence my site to only capture location details while on-site?
Yes. This is the standard configuration for most enterprise deployments.
What happens if Location Services is turned off?
mobe3’s location-based features won’t work. Just like the location-based apps you use in your personal life—Maps, Uber, DoorDash—mobe3 requires location access to function. However, most MDM solutions can notify you if Location Services is turned off on any given device.
What happens to indoor location accuracy when my site changes?
mobe3 RTLS's indoor positioning system is built to adapt—self-healing for changes affecting up to 20% of your infrastructure. For more significant adjustments, you can simply re-survey the site to recalibrate positioning.
How does mobe3 RTLS identify locations across different elevations?
mobe3 RTLS detects the vertical level of a device with granularity to one floor. From there, it uses the mobe3 RTLS Location definition to precisely pinpoint the specific height of a storage location.
What device should I use to track forklifts?
Dealer’s choice. If you’re already running mobe3 WMS on your forklifts via mounted iPad, you’re good to go. Otherwise, an entry-level iPhone is a great alternative. We’re happy to help you select the best-fit hardware for your operations.
